The law amending and supplementing Government Ordinance no. 29/1997 on Civil Aviation Code was published in the Official Gazette of Romania on July 8, 2014.
Here are some of the most important changes regarding UAV’s:
- The unmanned aircraft definition was included in the law = “aircraft guided by either an autopilot on board or by remote control from a control center on the ground or from another piloted aircraft “;
- Certificate of registration of an unmanned aircraft “must always be carried on by the person who provides flying aircraft without crew on board“;
- “Personnel of the flying aircraft without crew on board is part of the civil aeronautical personnel” and is subject to the laws of the Romanian Civil Aviation Code;
- “Personnel of the flying aircraft without crew on board is responsible by the technical management and safety of the aircraft and may take any measures for flight safety, from the start to the end of the flight operation with civil aircraf.”
