Wednesday, June 11st, 2014, the Romanian Chamber of Deputies (the lower chamber of the Romanian Parliament) adopted a draft law on integration into the Romanian legislation of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The draft changes the Gorvernment Ordinance 29/1997 on civil aviation code, previously issued by the Romanian Senate.
The project introduces provisions in the Civil Aviation Code to allow operation of unmanned aircrafts (UAV – unmanned aerial vehicles, better known as drones) in the Romanian airspace. The explanatory memorandum shows that the proposed legislative interventions harmonizes the national legislation with the EU legislation.
